this may or may not be of any help - but I have been storing diesel under my
rear bench seat in my 82 Westy. I have a 5L european jerry can that fits
perfectly in an upright position near the door. there has never been a leak
from the jerry can and every so often I dump the diesel in the tank and
refill the can. Don't think I would carry gasoline inside, though.
