No luck yet. Narrowed down a couple things it isn't (or doesn't appear to be). I disconnected 02 sensor after the van quit, waited 15 mins and started off again and it quit again the same as if it was connected. Plus I previously tested the 02 sensor with a digitool 4 months ago, and it was o.k. then.

This appears to have nothing to do with Vanagon syndrome. The last couple times it quit, I was just driving in town. One common thing, the weather in Rock Springs was about 100. It feels about 100 here. The engine is not unusually hot. Fan cycled on in town, like it normally does, so coolant.

It sputtered a couple times leaving Rock Springs and then it drove flawlessly 200 miles to my town when it died running errands.

Van is currently sitting here cooling off. If I let it cool off for 10 minutes it will drive for 3 or 4. In Rock Springs I let it cool off for a long while and it was good to go. So I will make it home, just don't know why it is dying. I drive for a few minutes, I start to feel a sluggish loss of power, let the clutch in and it dies.

I pulled the connector for the Hall sender and it seemed oily. Not sure if that could cause the symptoms, but I'm thinking heat + oil = short maybe. I cleaned it with a rag, and it didn't seem to change anything. Rotor is fairly new, plug wires, plugs too. It feels electrical but maybe something to do with the heat too. I going to hop out and pull the AFM cover and take a look now.

Thanks
