It's not too difficult to open the fuel line to the tank and blow some air back through the tank screen inside, maybe see it that is indeed your problem.

I have a couple of golf Ts in my tool box to use as temporary fuel line "corks" when I take stuff apart..

I'd think it would be worth an hour under the van to try that... While you are down there, blow back through the gas filter and also reverse the wires on the pump, with a line immersed in some gas...see if you get some gunk spewed out .....if you are comfortable with that. Watch creating sparks around your open fuel...
