Gotta love a trip like that!  Amazing how having to drive slower can be so calming.  Good luck on the next trip, too.   Stephen

First extended trip in our '84, 1.9, Westy (auto xnsm. &  A/C), since acquiring 9+ months ago. (Also after engine rebuild, etc. and other $$$). East of Cincy to Beaufort, SC and back, (1400 miles):  A/C was good when the sun wasn't out....(gotta work on blocking those rays). Survived the mountains, down to < 30 mph on a few grades.....about as expected.   Found I drove more with the tach than the speedometer....Tried to limit RPM's @ 4k +/- which translated to 65 mph +/- . Used no oil, temperature varied but stayed within limits in 95 degree heat with A/C on, in traffic and mountains...  :-) Found that travel in the slow lane has it's benefits....less stress, less passing, less congestion, not that much longer  :-)  .... Good ride......now ready for points west.....(son/family live in Missoula).  Roger B.
