It is highly unlikely that the housing itself is damaged beyond repair. The usual cause of failure for the axle or flange hub is insufficient torque of that large nut. Also you need to make sure the bearing spacer is not worn-damaged. Anyone that can sell you an axle can probably also sell you a housing since they both come from the same source. Maybe get a complete assembly with bearings ready to install and go.

Hello everyone,

A while back I'd emailed asking questions about possible sources of a noise I was hearing. We determined it may be a wheel bearing or CV joint.

I finally had it looked at over the weekend and apparently the problem is with the stub axle and possibly the wheel bearing housing. I see that Van Cafe sells used stub axles but any ideas where I can get the wheel bearing housing?

And/Or does someone who lives near N. Snohomish County, WA have a moment to come check things out? I've got it up on jack stands at the moment and it would be very easy to take a quick look. I've been advised NOT to drive it.

Thanks!
