Yes, for sure the newer style is a PITA to fill, I've got an '87 so the "newer" style with the anti-flow-back valve on it. I took the unit off and knocked out that device and so can put a Go Westy-provided plastic nozzle/hose down "the throat" of the filler now. I put a cork in it that has a screw in the middle so I can pull it out. The cork works to keep the water from sloshing out while driving, which it will do WITHOUT the cork (ask me how I know). Fills in a few minutes. I don't mind opening the cabinet and removing the screw-on lid inside to fill. Just not that big a deal AFAIC. Bob |
