The Splittie VW technique, maybe? My old 57 bus has a 'lazy' throttle, especially during Wyoming winters. I attached a Berkely tapered leader to the pedal and ran the end up to the package shelf so I could pull the throttle closed....in the rare times that I needed less than full throttle on that 36hp beast. (grin)
