I agree, I don't have no fancy dancy filler tube, so I either hold the garden hose at the exterior spout for a minute or two to fill it up, or fill from the inside where I only have 1 lid screw fastened so I can quickly rotate the lid, open the tank, fill w/ wawa & pinch off hose again to stop water from getting inside the van-presto chango, it's done.

Mr. BZ-went camping last weekend w/ empty wawa tank-pulled van out to fill, got distracted, hosed off van instead, but didn't fill tank, Mrs. BZ pissed. Had to drink beer & wine the whole time.
