I've got one stock pair- '89 grey & black vinyl, and, in addition, a Scorpio or Merkur velour set in mouse fur grey- essentially the same shade, slightly darker..., IOW, it's a match! The good: The Ford's head rest is back & forth adjustable, and the struts perfectly match the width and diameter of the holes in the Vanagon's seat back. The bad: VW put its stock detent on the rear of the struts, the Ford's are on the inside. The solution: I've used hose clamps on the Merkur leather pair inside my bus to set the height correctly. I seriously doubt that they'll ever jump off the seat back all by themselves. George/ATL- desperately trying to avoid pulling the fridge out once again. |
