Does anyone know where I could get an old time "dumb" battery charger? A small, homowner-style..maybe 10amps max? I have three inexpensive chargers right now (counting a Battery Tender)....so called "Smart Chargers" or some such. None of them works very well, they all have switch issues and won't charge properly without sometimes 'fooling' their 'smart' circuits. Back "in the day" I recall chargers that you just plugged into the wall and they charged your battery...you monitored the charge and turned it off when done...if you forgot, it cooked the battery, but they always charged. They didn't need 'some' voltage coming back to the charger from a battery to start charging, or whatever the heck all these so called "smart chargers" require before they will actually charge the frikkin dead battery.... Are there any simple chargers available without all the automatic features that make them NOT CHARGE unless everything is 'perfect'? Don Hanson |
