Mostly Audis with the battery under the rear seat used the hose. I just was at WalMart. The battery they have, Group 41-4, looks exactly like the other Group 41 batteries I've seen for the Vanagon. However, it does not have the nipple that others have mentioned for attaching a vent hose. I asked the clerk about it, and his response was something lilke, "huh?" He seemed to think the whole idea was lucicrous. I checked with a couple of chain parts suppliers, also. Same response. So, what batteries actually are so equipped? What is the diameter and material of the original hose? Is it simply routed to one of the openings in the bottom of the battery compartment? When I got my camper, there was no such hose. I'd like to fit it up correctly. > > Thanks, David -- David McNeely |
