I was thinking that since the crank pulley has two grooves could we get a double groove alt pulley and double the waterpump pulley and use the shims to align it and use a more friendly dual belt single tension point system? I think my alt is drawing too much of a belt load this trip I seem to of toasted my alt belt and the new waterpump belt is loose after 500 miles? They're not 'discarded'. I save all parts for all water-cooled vanagons and syncro's that I ever get. So when people need something ....I might be able to help them out. And it's my business of course too. and I keep the parts indoors, well organized ......like decent, not hacked or missing stuff etc.
