Hurricane coming so I can't finish my roof this weekend.  Instead I'll be working on the Westy needing exhaust repair and the recently wrecked motorcycle.  I expect about the same degree of progress as you but at least my lack of advancement will be in a broader variety of tasks.

I was just thinking of what has gone one recently with my vans, and it is both funny and ironic.

Spent a good bit of money, time and effort to get 'ol Red running right and cool inside the a coule of days later, a fire in the wiring and the wiring harness in the engine bay put the van under a tree until further notice.

Decided to get ye ole Blue 88 going since 'ol Red was down. Brake lites wouldn't turn off. Being it had sat for years, I figured brake light switches. Instrument pod removed, master cylinder exposed and drained, new genuine VW switches in hand - pulled the connectors from the old switch and checked with the new switch - they don't match. The pin locations are different. So now chasing connector parts.

While waiting, decided to work on SA grille installation. Buckets laid out, Bosch Euro reflectors laid out, new SA wiring harness laid out, Recommended Hella 100/80W H4 bulbs laid out. Bulb doesn't fit the Hella reflector, SA wiring harness connector doesn't fit the pins of the Hella bulb.

Yarrrrrgh, what next!!

I shouldn't ask.

John
