Subject: Long brake line blew
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

My long brake line that goes front to back on the van ('85) blew out under the drivers compartment yesterday. I can see the leak (it was rusty there). Most of the line looks to be in good shape and I need to get only 6 more months out of this van before it is decomissioned; is there a reason why I can't cut the line to either side of the bad area (about a foot) and flare/install fittings as needed to install a 1foot patch?

Or do I have to replace the whole monstrous line?

What have people done?

Thanks!
