Put the bolt in before you put the belt on so you can swivel the alternator
to a more accessible position.  I've never had much of a problem with that
one.  IIRC, I put a dab of grease on my middle finger to hold the nut, put
it in place, and turned the bolt with left hand.

|flat of the nut to hold it into the wrench. Magnet on a stick
|to retrieve it when it falls out. The second time you'll get it.
