Agreed, any new hose set should be match the 83 or 84 diesel Vanagon configuration so even 82 could use it by just upgrading to the latest diesel coolant tank which is the same as 84/85 waterboxer. The 82 tank has been NLA for years and does not have provision for the coolant level sensor that later years benefit from and which could be easily wired in.
