lol, perhaps we need a web-form to submit technical questions to the list. We could make one with all of the check and text boxes necessary to supply the information needed.

In my case: 1989 2.1L wbx standard (is that the correct term as opposed to diesel?).

You are correct, it's the 1st scenario, it stumbles and get slower and slower until it dies.

My apologies for such incomplete info :-(
