lol, perhaps we need a web-form to submit technical questions to the
list. We could make one with all of the check and text boxes necessary
to supply the information needed.


In my case: 1989 2.1L wbx standard (is that the correct term as opposed
to diesel?).

You are correct, it's the 1st scenario, it stumbles and get slower and
slower until it dies.
