Occasionally, and unpredictably, I hear and feel a thwang and snap sound from right rear, usually when making a turn. CV joints and shafts were replaced last year, but have very few miles on them. EMPI brand (I'm not looking for a "What you shoulda bought..." beating, just some help with a problem. Shocks are over ten years old, springs original, and probably the bushings, too. What tests can I do to diagnose the problem? How much left-to-right play in the spindle is normal? Any? Could the joints have been incorrectly installed? How? Is that correctable? I added grease recently, using a nozzle under the lip of each boot. All advice much appreciated. Kevin 84 Westfalia 1.9 A/T (for fun) 88 Saab 900 (want it?) 02 Camry (for reliability) |
