They take a special tool, but sometimes you can get by using a pair of large dikes if there's enough room. Regular screw-type hose clamps are a last resort - the ones with holes for "threads" tend to cut into the boots, and all types are imbalanced, which may or may not be an issue. They're called Schnoor washers, and should be available from most vendors. They're lock washers, which work much better than common split-ring ones when used with the hardened CV bolts. You don't want to go without them. |
