I confess that I have had a split inner CV joint boot on my Mercedes car for the last 24 years.. and I just shoot it up with very sticky penetrating motorcycle chain lube every once in a while. Figger to keep doing that till there's no gas to drive on someday, or until something happens...and I know that CV joint is not going to fail or wear much.
