Good Evening,

Most recently, I found one at WalMart that I am very pleased with. I've put pigtails on three cars, and move it between them as needed. The one I have in my Vanagon, that I built in, came from a RV supply store. It's specifically designed to be permanently mounted in an engine compartment (weatherproof metal case, heavy leads). I don't recall it's brand. It was "less cheap", but not prohibitive.

Here are the specifications for the WalMart unit: The Schumacher SpeedCharge maintains both 6- and 12-volt batteries, keeping them at full-charge using float-mode monitoring. Perfect for charging small and large batteries found on motorcycles, classic cars, RVs, boats and more. Includes a set of quick-connect harnesses for permanent attachment of ring connectors.

* 1.5-amp charger and maintainer * For both 6- and 12-volt batteries * Microprocessor controlled/ fully automatic switches to float-mode monitoring when battery is at full charge * LED indicator lights show charging, charged and trouble Quick-disconnect harness snaps either connector into place in seconds * Reverse-hookup protection * Model SEM-1562a * 2.5-lbs.

*Best Regards, Jon*
