Subject: Parking light issue, '91 Westy GL
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi all on the list. I'm prepping for an out of Province Inspection (required when moving from Alberta to British Columbia or vice versa in order to register the vehicle).

I've got an issue that I can't figure out with regards to my right front parking light. Signal light works fine but the parking/running light does not get power; A test on the wire for 12v proves A-ok until I attach the wire to the bulb holder. Volts drop to zero as soon as contact is made. Bulbs swapped side to side and not the problem, bulb holder appears clean and correct without cross-wiring, etc. The fuse remains intact when I do the test and all other lights (brake, signal and other parking lights) are ok.

I'm sure I'm not the first to come across this issue but don't have enough electronics knowledge to understand relay problems and the such...

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Fahrvergnugen! Trevor Reynolds "shinkanSEN", '91 Westy GL
