Subject: Cruise Control Inductive Pickup: sit on hole,
              or in hole of Speedometer?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Just double checking.

I'm finally getting around to installing a VSS sensor from a Mk2 VW (in speedometer). It appears to be the same or very similar to the Vanagon cruise control inductive pickup.

Does this part sit on top of the back of speedometer or push further into the hole?

These images seem to show it sitting on top of the plastic:

image of it installed on some other type of VW:

Installed on Vanagon speedometer:

Or does it push further into the hole? e.g. ears where screws pass through push past face of black plastic?

It would take a little effort to push it in, so am thinking it sits on the black plastic.

Thanks much,

Neil.
