Subject: Re: Refrigerator lighting

Same company makes em all - Indel. Isotherm is the marine division, Vitrifrigo RV division, etc, according to the VF guy I deal with. The Isotherm division also sells SS drawer versions. $$$$.

Regarding the gas fridges: the only way to really make these cool efficiently in hot weather is to have full venting of the heat - outside. That's why you'll see dual vents in the side of most German vans that have propane fridges. I had a Syncro here a few years ago where the owner had built all new oak cabinetry and installed a 3 c.f. Norcold 3-way fridge. The backside if the fridge was sealed to the outer skin of the van and had twin grilles, one low and one high, for convection of the heat off the coils. It took the fridge 8 hours to get fully cold, but at mid setting in 85-degree weather it would freeze ice cream rock hard. I drove it to Westies at Watkins one year, Frank probably remembers. But I hate holes in the side of a van (for obvious reasons) so only install electric compressor fridges in my rigs now.
