Subject: Clutch

HEy Everyone, I just put a new Clutch in my 84 westy and I was expecting the actual clutch to be different after install. What I mean is when I push the clutch pedal down the catch point is still ALL the way at the bottom. I did not open the system so I know I did not introduce any air. The clutch works and the van shifts ok. (gear oil next) I guess my question is how to suck up all that play in the clutch pedal? I have had it on the floor and go to Reverse and it grinds just a little bit. I can't go much further. Thanks everyone.
