Get a copy of "A Voyage for Madmen" by Peter Nichols. If you identify with Bernard Moitessier then by all means go for it. If you identify with any of the other 8, forget it.

And then you'll have to deal with the "sailor's curse". Whenever you are in port you can't wait to get back to sea; whenever you are at sea, you can't wait to get back to port.
