>> I camped for several days at East Park Reservoir >> in northern California. Daytime temps exceeded 100F, and the reefer ran >> almost continuously. This doesn't match my experience. I ran some tests on run-time and voltage drop, etc, etc, a year ago and posted the results. A quick search would find that link. ;-) But relevant to your comment: The most I have observed mine to run is 1/3 of the time--"on" four minutes, "off" eight. That was in Moab with hot temps. In more humane temps it runs 1/4 to 1/5 of the time. I run mine with the temp setting at "five o'clock" usually. If I have icecream sandwiches in the freezer, then "seven o'clock." I measured current once and found it was drawing more than the spec. I moved the source directly to my aux battery instead of the normal path for the kitchen wiring that goes through the fuse box, but haven't measured it since. [Please don't tell me about your phone--it gets dumb after the first time.] Richard |
