Hey Rocket, Thanks for the fine treatise in reply.

Worth repeating. Many variables in a compressor refrigeration system. Add-in the vehicle installation variables then, drive said vehicle from Alaska to the Mohave Desert. Expecting a consumer grade and designed system to function as advertised under these widely varying conditions, probably not a reasonable expectation. Similar expectations for the rather average customer support service … 8<(

With some tweaking of the thermostat and power setting resisters, some slight increase in performance might be achieved. Worth a search of the archive for that particular thermostat problem. As I recall, the repair worked.

Failing this, ditch the gelato cooler and spring of an Engel or similar rugged-designed refrigeration equipment
