Subject: Need help with acceleration problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Morning all, I noticed some minor hesitation as I tried to bring the speed up on the local 4 lane en route to diving the kids to school this morning. 87 GL automatic, bone stock, new fuel pump, has been running good for a few months straight, almost full tank of fresh gas, no other issues. It starts fine, accelerates from full stop normally, slight delay getting up to speed from 30-50 mph, and then, at 52-53 mph, it just won't go any faster. If I push the pedal down to the floor (not all the way to the tranny kickdown activation, if speed allowed it) the engine, actually bogs down slightly. If back pedal, the responsiveness returns but still, no speed faster than about 53 mph. I ruled out bad gas as it's not hesitating and no issues at any other speed. Bad gas tends to reflect more in sputtering across the board as opposed to a hard cut off and definitely not such a fixed point on the speedo like I'm getting.

Any ideas? Have to drop the misses off at the airport today (2 hours round trip) so I'm scratching my head a lot right now.

Thanks,

TJ 87 GL 2.1 Auto
