Yes, it can be a pain to get these off, but after replacing the heater core in an '87 Chevy Van years ago ,which required removing the steering column and the removal of the entire dash-that job makes the Vanagon dash look easy. It took me 8 hours to get the dash off, 30 minutes to replace the $45.00 heater core, and almost 9 hours to put it all back together. It's no wonder that this is a several hundred to over 1K job at a shop. Jeff
