Yeah, maybe I have a dud refrigerator?
The current when running, even with the rear jumper thing set to "low
current" position, is definitely greater than 2.5A. And it does not
exhibit the high startup current that you observe. It's steady as can be.
I did contact the distributor when I initially hooked it up and he said
to set it to the low current mode. Followup questions were ignored. The
manufacturer did not respond when I wrote them for clarification and
opinion.
