Hmmmm........ . I've heard that, but there is nothing in the owner's book saying it. The tire pressure monitoring system has to be reset when the tires are rotated because they call for different pressures front and rear. But that is simple to do, just hold a button down. The low pressure indicator blinks three times, and the gizmo is reset. Now, the "maintenance required" indicator, which is just turned on by the odometer 5K miles since it was last reset to remind one to change the oil and filter, is goofy, and requires a series of steps involving the buttons for the trip odometers. Why not just a simple switch (or why have the damned thing period)? I've just decided to leave it on rather than look up the turn off procedure again. That gives occasional passengers or persons I lend the car to something to get concerned about, and make conversation around ;-). mcneely |
