Interesting. My '82 had a pressboard section that went under the rear seat. That supported the base of the seat at the same height as those risers, and allowed the main floor section adjacent to the rear seat to slide under a bit.
I think Jim Felder's post on my blog details installing a 3 piece main floor. I did it on my westy many years ago, but again the plywood floor I cut up into 3 was only as large as the main floor area (plus a smidgen under rear seat and kitchen)
