The Rabbit diesel pan is not related in any way to the DV cast aluminum oil
pan.
it's a 'regular stamped sheet metal oil pan for a more upright engine
installation.
( neither, btw , is the trans, the flywheel/clutch/starter .........none of
those are related to or useable on Diesel vanagons ..only the engine itself,
from a Rabbit . )
get your aluminum pan as clean as you can get it, for the welder.
That's super important in a welding job like this one.
