I got curiouus, and Pat mentioned he's done a couple of Mega-squirt inline VWs. Went online and did some reading on the MS website (linked below for the VW app.)

I have a lot more research to do, but a cursory look around at the information indicates there are plenty of VWs that have been done, the info is out there, and the conversion to Mega Squirt is downright rea$onable in cost.

I am going to keep researching some more. The only thing that has me somewhat intimidated is that I've never been very adept at working with wiring in complicated compact circuitry and I'm not adept at soldering stuff.

I think, that with my modified inline VW motor, the ability to refine the tune, to revise the injection programming to better suit the different cam, the custom exhaust system and the increased compression ratio, that migtht make the time and expense (I am sure I will encounter some frustrations) worth while. I'd expect some further increases in power and fuel efficiency by replacing the VW factory computer operating parameters with custom tuning done specifically for this motor as it exists in my vehicle.

Could be interesting..it will certainly be a learning experience..
