Correct. You do not need to be the driver. And they permit two tows per breakdown. For example: breakdown on highway and bring to shop #1. You don't like the estimate and want to bring to shop #2. That's permitted as well. The least common denominator is the vehicle has to have current registered. Anyway, the original poster went tangent from his original query and we have all been swept down the AAA highway.;-(
