First van: as mentioned, a 66 Kombi Second: 64 with seats and stuff, really worn out old delivery van Third: Nice pretty much cherry 66 with walk-through front seats Fourth: 66 walk through Fifth: 66 bench seats Sixth: 71 with high top added Seventh: 68 Bay...really worn out Eighth: 82 GL Vanagon Ninth: 80 Westfalia Tenth: 82 Westalia Eleventh: 85 Synchro converted to Westy Twelfth: Synchro parted out for making the previous Synchro actually run Thirteenth; 80 Vanagon Westy. A few beetles and a Ghia thrown in here and there for good measure don't really count, do they? Oh! There was a 68 Westy I bought for the gas cap and the roof and ended up parting it out. I still have some of the parts. Gosh, doesn't seem like many, Every van seems like it will be the last. It would be interesting to compile a book of stories about these vans. we must have a few hundred good stories between us all. With not a few broken hearts and a lot of exultation.
