Yes it is! 
Got a speeding ticket this am on the way to woik.  Clocked @ 43 mph in a 30 mph zone after a 2 block startup from a right hand turn.  Motorcycle cop w/ a radar gun on the side of a busy 1 way road w/ 4-5 lanes.
When he asked if I knew how fast I was going, I demurred, saying afterall I was in a VW Bus & couldn't possibly be speeding.
But NOOOOOOO!
I behaved myself, as The spousal Unit was in the car, taking her to work after dropping her Audi off for a new head gasket among other issues( 199,000 miles), & he wrote it up for only 5 over.
I think he felt guilty giving someone in a VW Bus a speeding ticket, & he should have!
