Yes.....times 3 kids.  And times 2 vans:  91 L and 86 GL.  The kids were out of car seats when we got the current Syncro GL. Forward and backward both......but as I recall we used the position behind the driver.  Our vans never had shoulder straps, only lap belts But the most important thing is to use a locking clip.  The locking clip keeps tension on the seat belts constant.
