Remove the level controller (module 42 or 43 on side wall above and forward of fuse/relay panel). If light still blinks, check voltage between skinny ground pin and higher voltage of the two other pins on the temp gauge. If that voltage is 9.5-10.5 volts, then blink is caused by bad capacitor inside gauge. It's repairable.
