Subject: CB and 2M ham radio install
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

The Panzerkampingwagen is now the Panzerkampingfunkwagen. Funk (German for radio) has been added to my van (Spiny Norman) - I have added a CB radio - a Cobra - and a 2M ham radio in a removable bracket - disconnect two things and it slides out. The new radios have all the controls built in to the microphone so you don't need to take your eyes off the road if you are using them while driving. So, when I go camping I have communication with the outside world when I want it. Also, a "glow shift" tachometer was added as I was a bit worried about RPM going up hills in second gear (automatic). The automatic shift lever cover serves as a wonderful place to mount stuff - two folding cup holders were mounted to the sides and the 2M ham in its home made bracket were mounted on the rear of the shifter cover. Pictures at: http://www.pbase.com/spacecommander/westfalia_vanagon_mods I had a busy Saturday . . . . ;~) L8r, Tom
