For older motorcycles, he will likely want to look at www.advrider.com > Forums > Bikes > Old's Cool (and > Road Warriors for more current models).  Lots to see there about nearly every bike that ever rolled that folks still mess with.  Not so much about tool usage and safety, but more about what other guys are finding and how they're approaching it.  Lots of input and encouragement.

Hi all.

Before my gig started tonight, a young musician co-worker asked if I knew how to work on cars. Turns out he's interested in learning how to work on cars or motorcycles. From what I can tell, he knows very little. In asking how best to get started, I emphasized he learn about safety, procedure, and correct use of tools. I also suggested the 'net would be a great resource. Problem is, the 'net can be a source of mis information too.

I trust the listers here so......

Any recommends of websites, email lists or forums for a young lad curious of learning about cars? I realize this is one of them, but it may be that he's leaning towards motorcycles. (classic older types).

Thanks much,

Neil.
