Granted that it's been a couple of years, but those steering wheel covers for the switch were still available at the dealer last time I checked. I've got a shiny new one that I intend to install in another of my vans one of these days (one is already installed in the Syncro Westy. ) On Oct 19, 2011, at 2:18 AM, BenT Syncro wrote:

Most likely because most of these 'L' models where intended for Canada. Sold in the US as price leaders. You know the kind... rubber floor covering (sans carpets), black steel bumpers (non-fiberglass), cord interiors (fronts sans armrests), etc., etc. Seat heater switch console -- it had. > > > > BenT > > sent from my electronic leash > > On Oct 18, 2011, at 10:12 PM, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: > >> Not meant as a gloat, just dumb luck in finding a heated seat control unit and switch at a trip to the wreckers today. No actual heating pads though, the seat was gone from the van. It was '90 7 passenger van, sunroof, side moldings etc. The wreckers only have about half a dozen vanagons in the yard but a metric butt-load of JDM mini trucks/vans, Delicas etc. Surprising to see so many, I suspect that they get written off by our insurance agency (ICBC) more readily than other vehicles. >> >> Back to the heated seat, it was an option here in Canada but I rarely see them.To be honest, it always seemed like an afterthought judging by the placement of the switch (see: http://shufti.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/vanagon-nice-find-at-the-wreckers/) >> >> >> alistair >> >>
