RE: Younger Interest in the Vanagons and Westies This recognition of and interest in the Vanagons is not just TCMITS (The Celebrated Man In The Street) but also within the VW community. Last Sunday there was an annual event here in the Seattle area, a Burger Cruise put on by the NW VW Club at the XXX Drive Inn (one of only two left in the entire US). I've been attending this event for most of the last ten years and I've NEVER seen so may Vanagons and Vanagon Westfalias as were there this year. And the Bays and Splities that have been there in the past were noticeably absent. So I guess the Vanagon has started to become a 'legitimate' member of the VW 'Cult' in the eyes of the True Believers. And oh yeah, I was approached by someone in the Costco parking lot again last week asking about my Westy, happens about every other time I'm there. And that is in a geographic area where you can't drive more than a couple of miles without seeing another Westy.
