Somebody in a post last week wrote about how expensive Vanagons were when
new, quoting a price for a Ford Econoline of about $7500. So I wonder, where
is that Econoline now (you know the answer)? Which was the better deal, just
on resale and duty cycle? (I really don't know, not trying to lead an
argument here). And what about the fuel economy difference, assuming there
is any? If the Vanagon gets better mileage, did it payback the owner the
difference between it and cheaper vans?

And, on long-lived cars like the vanagon that have generally gone down or
stayed flat in price (compared to a rare or special car that has
skyrocketed) how many times will it be resold before it puts its original
sticker price back into the economy?
