We were thinking of a name for the van during our first real trip (to mammoth lakes, CA). We were hiking around Obsidian Dome and as we came back to the van I saw it resting peacefully under a large Jefferson Pine. I was thinking of names that went with Van, and thought of Rip Van Winkle - which immediately clicked with me - Van Winkle, which quickly morphed to Van Winky. Surreptitiously, the initials are VW. We call him "Winky" for short.
