Not terribly creative here. When I had one van, we'd just take the van, or Vanagon, or as my wife would say, vagabond (I don't know if she couldn't remember what it was called or just liked messing with my head). In July I picked up a super clean '91 GL. At that point I got tired of saying "the old gold Vanagon" or "the nice burgundy Vanagon". It became obvious I needed to name them.

My daughter had won a gold fish at a fair. She named it Abe Sapien (the fish guy in Hellboy). Her fish is gold, my '86 GL is gold, I'll call him Abe.

As for my '91 burgandy GL...Ruby it popped into my head and stuck.

Now we just take Abe or Ruby for a spin.

Interestingly these are the only vehicles I've ever named, and I've gone through a lot of cars in my 55 years.
