I love to see my name in PRINT!  The 1991 CDN syncro Westy had had an engine fire, and the guy who rescued it from the junk yard put a carb on it during the rebuild.  I bought it, and got my hands on a REAL European carb intake manifold and then bought a Weber progressive carb and had an adapter plate made.  That van was the BEST running van I've ever had .  I sold it when I had a chance to buy a real Syncro 16' Dehler camper conversion from Germany.  Imported the van to Canada (It's LEGAL in Canada now) I substituted a Reimo camper conversion on the inside, and a Bostig Zetec in the back.  I was going to import the van to Morocco (where I now live) but the import duties are HUGE so the van is FOR SALE and is in Belgium waiting for a buyer.  It runs great.  My plans are to buy a NEW T5.5 and have it camperized.  I hope that sets the record straight.  I'm glad that dropped in on this thread!  :-)   Malcolm
