I always thought that when I got a Vanagon I'd name it Greta, after the oddball lady weekend announcer on our local NPR affiliate, but we got it during the week that Pluto was demoted from planethood several years ago and that had great significance but I did not like the Disney association that everyone assumes. So we just call it the camper. It has never been officially named.

I named our splittie double cab Lili Marlene, and my 87 Wolfsburg Lola-Lola
(for Dietrich's character in The Blue Angel). My son has the Wolfsburg
now, and I may buy it back from him since he is in need of a small pickup.
A German exchange student named our Syncro but I honestly can't recall the
name she picked. Most of the time we just call our Syncro "the Bus." My 99
TDI Beetle is named "Destry" for James Stewart's character in "Destry Rides
Again," as my 99 used to below to my parents until they passed away, and my
Dad's name was James Stewart also.
