There's another one out there by John Muir Publications that is like the original in format, but speaks to the 80's era VW Rabbits
and Sciroccos etc. Even has the same cartoon-like cover. Wouldn't this version be good for learning vanagon work since they are of the same
era of technology? Anyone ever own this one?
Unfortunately it seems to be out of print. Perhaps there's copies to be found in used book stores. Here's the Amazon link:

Worked for me but the first bus was a '59.
71 was a great year with front disk brakes, rear drums you don't have
to bust that big nut to get to and the 1600 dual port single carb
engine. Muir's book will teach you.
